One of the most stressful things that couples go through is unfortunately the planning and the coordination of their wedding. This is because there are so many parts and pieces that need to be taken care of throughout the process, which usually results in the couple having a to-do list that seems too long to ever possibly complete.
Some of the things that need to be taken care of are much before the big day, such as choosing a florist, booking the wedding and reception venue and choosing the bridal parties. If given enough time, I believe that these tasks can not only be easily completed, but they can actually be fun to do as a couple (crazy, huh?). The rest of the work and a lot of the stress that most couples feel (especially the bride-to-be) happens either the weekend of the wedding or more specifically on the actual wedding day. This is where having a wedding coordinator can really come in handy.
A wedding coordinator can be defined as many different things, but when I think of one I tend to think of someone who helps coordinate the wedding weekend, the wedding ceremony and everything else in between. The wedding coordinator is not necessarily a wedding planner, which is someone who helps the couple with practically every detail and decision that has to be made. Instead, the coordinator focuses more on helping the bride keep her sanity during and around the wedding by taking care of all the details that need to be done and all of the people who need to be bossed around.
As you can probably imagine, the wedding coordinator can be a huge help during any wedding, but just to make sure you are aware of exactly how they can be of assistance, here are a few benefits you can chew on and think about:
Much Cheaper Than Hiring A Wedding Planner
As you can probably imagine, hiring a wedding coordinator instead of a full-time wedding planner is going to take a much smaller chunk out of your wedding budget. Instead of paying for someone to take care of all the details (while probably also taking away some of your fun), you’re only paying someone to work during the most important and hectic part of the process — the actual wedding weekend and ceremony. After getting married and seeing first hand how much this could have helped to make our wedding experience smoother I would definitely think about hiring a wedding coordinator if I could do it all over again.
All Of The Details Will Be Taken Care Of
It seems like there are a million different things that need to be remembered on the weekend of a wedding and taking on all of the responsibility for all of it isn’t something that the couple should have to do. Having a wedding coordinator on site to make sure that your groomsmen are all ready for pictures and that the bride never sees the groom before she’s walking down the aisle might not sound like a big responsibility, but believe me — it can be tough. Honestly, in my opinion, having someone else focus on all of the details is one of the best reasons for hiring wedding coordinators in the first place.
Taking Care Of Directing The Herd
I don’t care how big your wedding is going to be, there is always going to be a lot of work to be done when it comes to getting people to the right places at the right times. Whether it’s the wedding party, the groom or the guests who can’t seem to find the church, the last person you want taking these types of stress-inducing phone calls all day is the bride. With a wedding coordinator she can give her cell phone a break for the day and let the problems get taken care of without her intervention. Doesn’t sound too bad, huh?
The Bride Can Actually Enjoy Her Wedding
My last and most important reason for hiring a wedding coordinator is to give the bride the chance to actually spend one of the most important days of her life with the people she loves the most, all without the constant distractions that always comes with being the focus of a wedding. Giving the bride the freedom to do what she wants to do on her big day will be worth more than she will ever realize, so it’s definitely something to consider.
