In the world of gifts for your groomsmen, there are many options to choose from. But, if you were to ask most grooms what they feel is the best of the best when it comes to groomsmen gifts I bet many would say it’s all about the flask. In my honest opinion, I feel like flasks aren’t all that creative and have been done a million times, but I also must admit that they’re always a hit with most members of the male wedding party. I’m not really sure why this is the case, but I’m sure that it has to do with getting something that’s personalized and used for drinking. Plus, there’s just something classy and slightly exciting about drinking out of a flask.
If you’re on the search for some flasks, here are three simple steps that will help you find, personalize and give them with ease.
1. Decide on Type of Flask
This might seem like a no-brainer and very trivial, but the truth of the matter is, there are all kinds of flasks out there that you can buy for your groomsmen. There are golf flasks, sports flasks, metal flasks, colored flasks, leather flasks, monogrammed flasks and so on and so on. Depending on the types of groomsmen you’ve selected to fill the high honor of standing up at the alter with you during your big day, you could find practically any type of flask that your crazy, little head could come up with. Well, almost everything I guess.
2. Fill or No Fill?
The next step is a big one and something that you should chew on for a while before deciding. Do you want to hand out the flasks to your groomsmen as empty containers or do you want to show the most important men in your life how much you really appreciate them by filling them with their liquor of choice? If this question was up to me, I would give them out fully filled to the brim without ever thinking otherwise, but hey — that’s just me. Before handing out several flasks full of liquor to some of the craziest people you know, just realize that there could be some serious (and potentially embarrassing) consequences because of it.
If you’re like me and you wouldn’t even think about not filling up the flasks for your groomsmen, you might just want to take it to a whole new level by letting them keep what’s left in the bottle. I mean, it’s your wedding, so why not?
3. Make the Flasks Part of the Fun!
One more thing that you can do once you have all of your flasks ready to be handed out is to somehow tie the gifting of the flasks into part of the rehearsal dinner when you talk about each of your groomsmen. As you talk about each of your groomsmen feel free to share their favorite liquor with the rest of the group and don’t forget to tell everyone why you decided to get them the particular flask that you did. You could even plan on having a groom+groomsmen toast after you hand them all out. Oh and as always, be sure to remember to get a good photo of all the action. It’s how you’ll end up remembering everything anyways.
